Township Firefighter Recovering From Heat Stroke

Michael Kubach became ill during a training session this week.

A Morris Township firefighter who suffered a heat stroke on Monday was expected to be released from the hospital Thursday, according to Chief Scott Lovenberg.

Firefighter Michael Kubach suffered from heat exhaustion on Monday when he was going through training evolutions at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy.

Kubach, of Morristown, was transported to on Monday and has been receiving treatment there since. Lovenberg said Kubach was doing much better the last few days.

Kubach has been with the Morris Township Fire Department for six years.

Lovenberg said he is not sure when Kubach will be able to return to work after he is released.
