MORRIS TWP, NJ — West Nile virus has been found in mosquitoes in Morris Township, township officials said.
The infected mosquitoes were found in a sample taken in the woods behind the old Mennen/Colgate site and near Tucker Field on Cedar Street. Additional sampling or spraying could take place, officials said.
West Nile virus can be mild, with symptoms of fever, headaches, tiredness and swollen lymph glands. Even mild infections can last for weeks, but about 1 in 150 people will develop a severe illness that can cause neurological damage, including paralysis, and death.
