10 Roads Closed, 2K Without Power In Morristown Friday

Devastating Thursday thunderstorm wreaked havoc in town.

Morristown, N.J. – Nearly a dozen Morristown streets are closed Friday morning after a quick-moving but devastating storm swept through Morris County Thursday afternoon.

As of 9 a.m. Friday morning, sections of 10 roads were still closed, including:

  • Washington Street westbound between Mills Street and Colonial Road.
  • Ridgedale Avenue closed between Abbett Avenue and Hanover Avenue.
  • Overlook Road is closed at Ogden Place.
  • Washington Avenue closed at John Glenn.
  • Market Street closed between Maple Avenue and Bank Street.
  • Colles Avenue is closed.
  • Burnham Parkway is closed at Washington Street.
  • Ford Avenue is closed between Franklin Street and Morris Street.
  • Georgian Road closed.
  • Chestnut Street closed.

As of Friday morning, there were 2,090 residences still without power in Morristown, according to JCP&L, with an estimated time of restoration of 11:30 p.m.
