Across Morris County, Police On Heightened Alert

In Morris County, like other parts of the state, the police are on alert as a result of multiple homemade bombs found over the weekend in New Jersey and New York.

Some police departments in townships with commuter train stations across Morris County are increasing patrols, but so far, no train station in Morris County has a stationed officer. Chatham Police are in a state of heightened awareness, ready to act, but they are so far, conducting the usual train station patrols. Officers in Hackettstown are stepping up their patrols. Denville officers are stopping at the Denville and Mount Tabor stations and doing a check of the lot and the trash bins.
