Business Celebrates 10 Years in Morristown

New Jersey Sen. Anthony Bucco, Assm. Anthony Bucco and Mayor Timothy Dougherty of Morristown joined in celebrating 10 years in business on Dec. 14.

A family-owned business located in Morristown, Senior Home Care Services provides caregivers to seniors and the disabled throughout Northern and Central New Jersey. In honor of the agency’s 10 years in business, Sen. Bucco signed a resolution acknowledging Senior Home Care Services’ dedication to helping the senior community and creating jobs in an unstable economy.

George Koenig founded Senior Home Care Services in 2001 after struggling to care for his aging parents who lived out of state. For the past decade it is has been his mission to help our senior community by providing quality caregivers who focus on seniors’ health and well-being.

“My firsthand experience with the stresses of caring for aging parents led me to recognize the need to found a home care agency that provides seniors with the respect and care that I would want for my own family,” Koenig said. “Seniors deserve the acknowledgement of their achievements and hard work through dignified care in their later years.”

Clients’ needs vary from assistance with activities of daily living such as basic companionship, meal preparation, hygiene assistance and driving to higher skilled client care needs addressing conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and paralysis. Services offered range from a few hours of companionship per week to 24-hour live-in care services.

Starting its 11th year in business, Senior Home Care Services continues to grow and create jobs for the community. Even in a struggling economy, senior care remains a growth industry as our population ages, people continue to live longer and seniors increasingly want to remain in their home. An estimated 70 percent of all people 65 and over will require long-term care services during their lifetime and the Department of Labor and Workforce Development estimates the number of New Jersey residents aged 65 and over will double in the next 40 years.
