New Lady Colonials Lacrosse Club Invites Recruits

The Lady Colonials Lacrosse Club invites Morristown-area girls in grades 3-8 to register online for its inaugural spring 2012 season by visiting www.morrislacrosse.org and clicking on the “Register Now” button or the “Girls Program” tab at the top of the page. The registration fee is $200, which includes games, practices, a new uniform each player will keep, and special lacrosse clinics and events.
Scholarships are available based on family need.

Travel teams at the 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th grade levels will be formed in accordance with the Jersey Girls Lacrosse Association (JGLA). The Lady Colonials home field
will be the St. Elizabeth’s field adjacent to the Convent Station train station in Morris Township. To ensure a spot on a team, participants should register as soon as possible.

The goal of the Lady Colonials is to promote lacrosse among girls in the Greater Morristown area. The club hopes to expand the sport’s appeal to a broad range of players reflecting the socioeconomic, ethnic and diverse demographics of Morristown and its surrounding communities. Lacrosse is a fast, fun, and high-scoring sport that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence in young women. The Lady Colonials strive for each girl to finish the season with a passionate love for the game
and a desire to continue playing lacrosse at higher levels.

Lady Colonials Lacrosse is structured as part of the Colonial Junior Lacrosse Club, a non-profit, 503(c)(1) company. Like the boys’ program, it is a 100% volunteer-based organization and it will maintain a separate board to address the nuances of the girls’ game. Anyone interested in volunteering may email ladycolonialslax@gmail.com.
