Obituary: Anthony Cattano Jr., 63

Anthony Cattano Jr. passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, N.J. He was 63.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. at in Morristown, N.J. Hours of visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at , 106 Maple Ave., Morristown, N.J. 07960. Interment will be private.

A lifelong resident of Morristown, N.J., Tony graduated from Morristown High School in 1967. He was the owner of Cattano Jewelers and Cattano Trophy Shop. He was a coach for 30 years in the Morristown Little League, which included the 1985 N.J. State Championship team. He also coached the St. Margaret's CYO basketball team, at one point winning 105 consecutive games.

Tony was also a proud member of the Columbia Club and Eagles Club, as well as a volunteer on the Morristown Ambulance Squad. In 1992, Tony was elected to the Morristown Town Council, where he served proudly for 20 years. He was inducted into the Morris County Hall of Fame in 1987.

He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony Sr. (former Morristown mayor) and Rose Cattano. Tony is survived by his wife, Halle; sons, John and Christopher, and his daughter, Jaime, and nine grandchildren, Alexis, Tatjana, Nikolas, Kelley, Samantha, Michael, Kaysaan, Kyanna and Kamrynn.
