Obituary: Mark Tobler, 47

Mark Tobler, 47, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He was born in Colorado, moved to New Jersey in 1989, and lived in Morristown for the past nine years.

Mark was born April 30, 1965. He grew up in Denver, where he loved hiking and outdoor sports. He earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in chemical engineering at Colorado State University.

He worked for 2 years as a senior validation engineer for the biomedical technology company Stryker in Mahwah, NJ and 15 years at Hoffmann-La Roche Pharmaceuticals in Nutley N.J.

Mark was an accomplished musician playing drums for the band "Our Marvelous Lives" in addition to playing drums for the bagpipe band "Clan Na Vale" and marched in New York City's Saint Patrick's Day parade. Mark was an active member and for Morristown's .

Mark is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marianne Koppisch Tobler; his daughter, Alexandra; his parents, Leroy and Letha of Arvada, Colorado; his sister Michelle and brother-in-law John Atkins of Kingston, Ontario and his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Megan of Denver.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the , Morristown, NJ on Wednesday at 10 a.m. A memorial visitation will be held at the , 106 Maple Ave., Morristown on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
