Art On Screen: Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child
Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 7:30PM, Morris Museum

The Morris Museum continues its series of Art On Screen with great films and festivals on Wednesday evenings each month. Next up is the first feature length documentary biography of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, who is often considered one of the greatest American painters in the last half of the 20th Century.
Basquiat's short life and unexpected death at the age of 27 made him a cultural icon. This film offers a rare, longer, on-camera interview made shortly before his death.
Later this month, plan to attend the Black Maria Film Festival which focuses on short films shining a light on issues and struggles within contemporary society. We're screening a selection of the 2019 award winners with guest filmmaker, Anthony Jannelli, who's animated film, The Velvet Underground Played at My High School will be featured followed by a Q&A.
