Burglaries Reported, Cops Ask Residents to Be Alert
Morristown Police report recent 'string of burglaries' in different parts of town.

The Morristown Police Department asks residents to be alert after a string of burglaries have recently been reported in different parts of town.
"The Bureau of Police are working diligently with citizens and neighborhood associations in order to investigate these reports," according to a Nixle.com release. "We are asking for the public's assistance. We understand that less time is spent outdoors this time of year, but residents are asked to maintain awareness within their neighborhoods. Please report all suspicious activity or people to the police immediately."
Basic crime prevention methods should be used at all times, the release states, including "ensuring all doors and windows are secured and locked, keeping exterior or motion-sensing lights active and asking neighbors to watch over each other," according to the release. "The best defense is a strong united community."
Additional crime prevention information will be available on the Town of Morristown website by the end of the weekend.
