Abu-Shaheen was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and now lives in Queens, New York, where she teaches at The City College of New York. The release states her work focuses on "ways in which globalized communication bring idealized images from one culture in contact with the realities of another."

She's now building her own photographic archive what Beirut looks like today.

Uibopuu was born in Tallin, the capital of Estonia. She now lives in Brooklyn and teaches at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. Her work compares the cities of Tallinn and New Orleans and the hardships they've each survived, according to the release.
