MORRISTOWN, NJ — The end is near for Century 21 in Morristown. The company, which declared bankruptcy in September, declared Dec. 6 as its last day of business.

Century 21 Stores will mark down all items by 70 percent until closure. The company currently has 13 stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida.

When Century 21 Stores announced bankruptcy Sept. 10, they blamed the company's insurance providers owing about $175 million "under policies put in place to protect against losses" stemming from the coronavirus. Century 21 also will no longer accept online orders.

Morristown's location will have temporary hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. C21stores.com doesn't list any weekday hours for the Morristown store.

The store's other New Jersey locations are in Paramus and Elizabeth. Its shop in the American Dream mall in East Rutherford has closed.
