Chase Bank Partnering to Fill 500 Backbacks Thursday

JPMorgan Chase and World Vision holding event 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 16 to benefit Morristown Neighborhood House.

JPMorgan Chase and World Vision are partnering for an event Thursday at the where employee volunteers, Chase customers and local residents will have an opportunity to fill 500 backpacks with school supplies to benefit children of the as they get ready to enter the new school year.

JPMorgan Chase and World Vision volunteers will be joined by local community leaders and residents throughout the day as they fill 500 backpacks and raise awareness of the program. Chase customers will have an opportunity to participate in packing a bag or writing an inspirational note to one of the students as they prepare to go back to school.

Today, one in five children in the U.S. lives in poverty. With the average cost of school supplies averaging $100 per child, back-to-school shopping can be a big financial burden for some families. JPMorgan Chase and World Vision have partnered to hold a number of these backpacking events across the country to benefit local students as the new school year begins.

Anyone interested in participating will be able to do so between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday. Local community leaders will join Chase’s New Jersey Market President Joseph Dempsey Jr. and World Vision’s Jeff Eichenlaub to make brief remarks thanking the volunteers at noon.
