Construction Closing George Street This Week In Morristown
Motorists should avoid George Street, starting Tuesday, police said.
MORRISTOWN, NJ - George Street will be closed to vehicular traffic at Martin Luther King Avenue during construction beginning Tuesday morning, according to the Morristown Police Department.
Work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m.
Jo Med Corp will be replacing portions of the sewer main on George Street and the process is expected to last four days, officials said. Lincoln Street will be operated as two-way traffic with the assistance of multiple traffic control officers to maintain access to the neighborhood.

Lincoln Street and George Street will have parking restricted during work which is set for daily 12 hour blocks from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parking restrictions will be posted in advance and cars in violation of parking restrictions will be removed from the street.
Alternate parking can be found at the Gramby Playground, Center Street, or Coal Avenue parking lots, officials said.
