MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Rescuing cats from trees is old news— this Morris Township police officer rescued a dog from a ravine on Friday.

Patrolman Robert Hydock rescued the dog, pictured above, that had fallen down into the ravine. It wasn't just the fall that could have posed a risk to the pup: the little guy had fallen near thorns and other dangers.

Thankfully, Hydock was able to rescue the dog.

"The dog was uninjured but without Ptl. Hydock’s help, might not have been able to get out!" Morris Township police said.

"That is exactly what professional police work is all about. KUDOS Officer," one resident wrote in response to the police department's Facebook page.
