Cyclist, Jeep Collide In Morristown: Police

Police determined the cyclist was at fault. They sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A cyclist and a Jeep collided Friday morning Morristown. The cyclist, who police determined was at fault, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash took place just before noon at Abbett and Ridgedale Avenues. The Jeep, which had a green light, had been turning from southbound Ridgedale Avenue onto Abbett Avenue. The cyclist — Jeremy Holloman — rode into the crosswalk when the collision occurred, police said.

Investigation determined Holloman had been riding on the sidewalk, heading northbound to the soundbound side when he entered the crosswalk, police said.

Holloman, 24, of Elizabeth, had abrasions on his legs and complained of pain in his side. Police and members of the Morristown Fire Bureau provided emergency medical care. Officials took Holloman to the hospital to evaluate his injuries.

The Jeep driver wasn't hurt. Police closed off the road until just before 1 p.m.
