MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — After being rescued from the streets, Elsie Lonestar is ready to find a forever home.

This 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix was found on the streets of East Texas after giving birth to puppies. She was rescued and brought to New Jersey, where she is currently fostered by Eleventh Hour Rescue.

Elsie is quiet and gentle, and needs "companionship of another dog to help show her the way and get over her shyness." Once she warms up to someone, she is "pure love."

Elsie would do best with a patient owner who can help her get adjusted to family life. She is good with children and cats. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and is good in the car.
