Find Inner Peace With Weekly Meditation Group

Empty Bowl Zendo meets several times a week, including at 6:25 p.m. Tuesdays.

Just like the commercial asks, "wanna get away?" Then, try getting back to the present moment.

This week's "Great Escape" looks at meditation and the benefits one gets by allowing themselves the opportunity to just sit, breathe and return. Too often, with everything going on in our lives, even accomplishing one of those is a mighty task. But, all three?

It's possible, by ourselves or, with friends. Luckily, fellow meditators can be found right here in Morristown.

Every Tuesday night starting at 6:25 p.m., the meets for its weekly sittings, on the second floor of the on South Street. If you are loosely familiar with meditation, this is not the "ohhhm" type that is most commonly known, but what is referred to as "Zazen." Basically, what you need to know is you will be sitting in silence in several stages, and also performing "walking meditation" around the sitting room.

New to meditation? Come by early, at 6 p.m., and someone will get you up to speed. There also are morning sitting on Thursdays, a Wednesday sitting in Boonton, as well as more intensive sittings at other times. Visit Empty Bowl Zendo's website for more information. Sittings are free, but donations are encouraged.
