Five Things To Do This Weekend In Morris County
Pick apples, hop on a hayride, or dress up like a princess this weekend in Morris County.
It's officially the first weekend of Fall and there are plenty of things to do with the family and friends, from apple picking to touring Mount Tabor's historic houses:
Apple Picking and Moonlit Hayrides at Alstede Farms
Alstede farms, the brainchild of Chester native, and first generation farmer, Kurt, has been around since 1982. This fall, as in that past, the farm is offering apple varieties for picking that include Honey Crisp, Empire, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, and more. Visitors can also pick their own pumpkins and Indian corn and potatoes. For those interested in a way to enjoy the fall evenings, Alstede offers Harvest Moon Hayrides on weekend evenings beginning on Friday, September 23. Each evening from 6 to 10 PM, participants can enjoy hayrides under the moon, campfire, hot cider, and country music while noshing on s'mores. Princess Breakfast at Imagine That
Your sweet little princess can get dolled up and meet other princesses at the Princess Breakfast, being held at Imagine That: A New Jersey Children's Museum in Florham Park. The morning treat, Imagine That's most popular event, will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 9:30 AM to 1 PM. Kids will enjoy a light breakfast while meeting a number of princesses. Make sure to bring your camera to record these precious moments. The event takes place on Saturday morning between 9:30 AM and 1 PM at the Imagine That: A NJ Children's Museum located at 4 Vreeland Road in Florham Park.

Victorian House Tour at Mount Tabor Historic District
The Mount Tabor Historic District will be giving a tour of more than 15 private houses and historic buildings open to the public on Saturday, September 24, between 11 AM and 4 PM. Visitors will get to see a furnished replica Camp Meeting Tent and the Richardson History House, which was recently renovated. Mount Tabor is located in Morris County along Route 53 between Denville and Morris Plains. Chester Lions Club's Annual Oktoberfest
On Saturday, September 24, the Chester Lions Club is presenting their 17th annual Oktoberfest. The weekend of September 24, Chubb Park will be transformed into a German celebration, with live music, professional dancers, and activities for children. Visitors can dine on bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels, apple strudel, beehive cake, and more. The Club will also feature an antique car show on Saturday. The event happens on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, from 12 PM to 8 PM at the Chubb Park on West Main Street in Chester. Admission is $6 for adults. Children 12 and under are free. Morristown's Festival On The Green
The 22nd annual Festival on the Green will be hosting boisterous fun on Sunday, September 25, embracing the fall and bidding a final adieu to the summer of 2016. This year, over 150 vendors will be lined up on and around the town's Green selling wares and eats while bands and other artists provide sights and sounds. The scheduled lineup includes the New York Red Bulls Street Team Freestylers, TropyBand Orquesta, The Heart of Gold Band, and many more. Kids can jump around big blow-up castles and try their hands at a little rock climbing. Jugglers will throw a few balls by you while stilt-walkers weave their way through the crowd. The 22nd annual Festival on the Green in Morristown is a free event. It happens on Sunday, September 25 from 12 PM to 5 PM in downtown Morristown.
