Gingerbread Wonderland Opens In Morristown [PICTURES]

Over 150 gingerbread houses are on display at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum; get a sneak peak at the houses here.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The annual Gingerbread Wonderland is back for 2017 at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown, and Patch has a preview of what you can expect this year.

Now in its 26th year, over 150 gingerbread houses are on display at the education center in the Arboretum. Houses were built by local residents and submitted in different categories: students and scouts, special needs, family, and adults only. While hard work was put into all of the confectionary constructions, some of the larger houses took up to 200 hours to make.

Attendees can vote for their favorite houses, and the winner will receive a blue ribbon to display. Houses with a conservation theme are marked with a green ribbon in the exhibit.
