Girl Scout Troop 95105 holds Anti-Bullying Event

Anti-Bullying 101: The Bullying Stops Here

Girl Scout Troop 95105 recently organized and led an event called "Anti-Bullying 101: The Bullying Stops Here." The 7th grade Girl Scout Cadettes from Frelinghuysen Middle School coordinated a guest speaker and workshops to educate people on bullying as well as provide tools to help cope with being bullied. Almost 80 attendants were able to hear the compelling story of how guest speaker, Julie Bond Genovese, overcame the negative effects of bullying. Julie is a writer and motivational speaker who was born a “dwarf with degenerative arthritis”. Her story of how she learned to love herself and her bullies through painful, negative experiences was extremely moving and provided valuable insight for the audience. Troop 95105 hopes that this speaker and event will help others deal with the issues they may be facing.
