MORRISTOWN, NJ — Rooftop dining and drinking at Iron Bar will have to wait. Morristown officials postponed a special hearing for the business's proposal to add rooftop dining and drinking.

The special meeting and public hearing will take place at 7 p.m. March 29 over Zoom. Iron Bar hopes to extend its liquor license to the roof, adding 150 seats and an 18-seat bar and standing room.

Morristown's Alcoholic Beverage Control Board scheduled a meeting Monday about the proposal, but officials adjourned after 15 minutes. The board received too much new information shortly before the meeting, according to Deputy Township Attorney Elnardo Webster II.

"I received 200 pages of new information after 4 o’clock this afternoon," Webster said. "I don’t know how we could have done a good job conducting a hearing this evening."

Council Vice President Toshiba Foster set a deadline of 3 p.m. March 19 for submission of any materials related to the hearing.
