I-287 Paving Work To Begin Monday Night In Morris County
Work will be done on the north side from Route 202/206 just north of Exit 22 in Bedminster through South Street/CR 601 in Morristown.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Resurfacing work on about 13 miles of I-287 north in Somerset and Morris counties will begin this week, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced.
The $18 million federally-funded project includes paving and upgrading of the guardrails from Route 202/206 just north of Exit 22 in Bedminster through South Street/CR 601 in Morristown.
Work will begin on Monday, July 29 at 8 p.m. through Tuesday, July 30 at 6 a.m. causing the right lane on I-287 north to be closed at about Exit 22 for Route 202/206. A construction barrier will be installed along the shoulder to create a work zone, NJDOT said.
Guiderail and barrier improvements, drainage upgrades and then milling and paving work of the shoulder will then begin. This stage of the work is expected to be completed in the fall.
Work will then move onto the northbound travel lanes, which will be overlaid with a High Performance Thin Overlay (HPTO), according to NJDOT.
