MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty spoke against the rioters storming the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday to halt the Electoral College certification of Joe Biden as the next president.

Dougherty's daily video updates have mainly focused on local coronavirus news lately. But the mayor also said he felt "embarrassed" by the attacks on the Capitol.

"It’s disgusting," he said. "And you know what? It doesn’t matter. We’ve heard a million times that we’re all going to go through this process, and there will be challenges. But in the end, President-Elect Joe Biden will be the president of the United States."
