It's Time To Veg Up At Morristown's First Annual VegFest
Ever wonder how to make a veg-forward meal? See what the experts have to say.
There are those who say they could never give meat up, never imagine eating a meal that doesn't have meat at the center of it. Until, that is, they try their first raw lasagne, or taco stuffed with ancho lentils or jackfruit. It's not all that bad.
For vegans, vegetable lovers, and the hesitant, the first ever VegFest will be coming to Morristown this weekend. The festival is a great place to get a taste of the vegan life and to learn, if you care to, why veganism is good for your body and for everybody else.
According to festival organizers, over 50 vendors are on board already, in additional to several speakers. The founders, both from Morristown, have been interested in promoting and living healthy and happy lifestyles for many years. Kendra is the founder of Bike & Walk Morristown, and Marisa is the owner of Be Well, a wellness center based in Morristown.

Among the full roster of speakers, are Dr. Joel Fuhrman, who advocates a micronutrient-rich diet; Adam Sobel of the vegan food truck phenomenon, Cinnamon Snail; Liz Dee, of surprisingly meatless Smarties candy; and comedian Jamie Kilstein.
The meatless foodganza happens this Sunday, October 2, from 10:30 to 5:30 PM at the Hyatt Regency Morristown. Free parking will be available in the parking garage (tickets validated at the front desk or through New Jersey VegFest registration). Tickets available at Eventbrite, $25. Kids under 3 free. Goody bags to first 1,000 ticket holders.
