Join Light the Night Walk, Saturday, Oct. 20, Morristown

An annual event dedicated to shining a light on the urgent need for cures for blood cancers

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk is an annual event dedicated to shining a light on the urgent need for cures for blood cancers. During the walk, survivors and patients carry white lanterns, gold lanterns are carried by those walking in memory, and red lanterns are carried by supporters. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been able to invest over $1 billion into research, but there is still more work to do. Despite this great progress more than a third of blood cancer patients still do not survive even five years after their diagnosis.

The 2018 Light the Night Walk Mission Chair is Dr. Mohamad Cherry, Director of Hematology at Morristown Medical Center’s Carol G. Simon Cancer Center.
