NEW JERSEY — The Weather Channel has released its March outlook, and if you're hoping to see some snow included in there, you might be disappointed.
Or will you?
The Weather Channel is predicting the average and above average temperatures will continue in March for New Jersey. Average temperatures in March for the Garden State hover in the low 50s.

Of course, it's not out of the question we'll finally get some snow during the last few weeks of winter.
Indeed, a system heading into New Jersey that will bring rain — and perhaps some snow — along the I-95 corridor. Forecasters said it's too early to tell what may happen, but some snow is expected to hit on Thursday morning and/or late Friday.

The historically-strong polar vortex, however, will likely persist well into March, forecasters with the Weather Channel said in their outlook. A strong polar vortex correlates with warmer than average temperatures.
"This may continue well into March," said Dr. Todd Crawford, the network's chief meteorologist.
It wouldn't be unheard of to get an abundance of snow this late in the season, however. In 2018, New Jersey experienced four nor'easters, with some of the storms dropping as much as 16 inches on parts of the suburbs. Read more: Extreme NJ Weather In 2018: Here's How The State Got Slammed
The meteorological start to spring was March 1. That's when milder temperatures begin to become more common and widespread.
But even in late February, temperatures were starting to feel like spring.
Throughout the first half of February, temperatures in New Jersey were much warmer than normal, with averages of more than 8 degrees above normal across the region, according to the Northeast Regional Climate Center.
Here is the forecast:
- Tuesday: A chance of rain after 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Tuesday night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Wednesday: A slight chance of rain before 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
- Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33.
- Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.
- Thursday night: A chance of rain before 1am, then a chance of rain and snow between 1am and 4 a.m., then a chance of snow after 4am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
- Friday: A chance of rain and snow before 1pm, then a chance of rain between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
- Friday night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 37.
- Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24.
- Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 44
