Longtime Morristown Nurse, Grandmother Dies At 69
Kathy Nish began working in the Morristown area in 1971.

MORRIS TWP., N.J. – Kathy Nish was described as “an open heart and mind, and a confidante to her many friends and acquaintances.”
The beloved nurse and grandmother died recently at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer.
Nish attended Seton Hall University where she was co-captain of the cheerleading squad and social chair of Sigma theta Sigma before graduating with her nursing degree in 1968.

She completed graduate courses at Columbia University and married Robert Nish. They moved to Morris Township in 1971 where Kathy was a pediatric nurse at Cohen & Lupatkin before working in the Pediatric and Gynecological clinics at Morristown Medical Center.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert, of 48 years; four children; and 10 grandchildren.

“She loved to laugh and seized every opportunity to do so,” her obituary states. “She was blessed with great faith and drew strength from her Notre Dame parish community and her Bible studies group. Above all, Kathy loved spending time with her family and her precious grandchildren.”
A celebration of life will be held at Doyle Funeral Home on Thursday, March 17 from 4 to 8 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18 at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel on Ridgedale Avenue in Cedar Knolls.
Memorial donations may be made to Birth Haven, a shelter for pregnant women in crisis, at 4 Academy Street in Newton, NJ 07860.
