Morris, Sussex Judge Edward Gannon, 63, Dies From Injuries In Fall
The Superior Court judge fell in Boonton last Friday and was on life support until late Tuesday, report says.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Edward Gannon, a Superior Court Judge in Morris and Sussex Counties, has died after sustaining a head injury in a fall late last week.
Gannon, 63, was outside a deli in Boonton last Friday when he fell backward on a step and struck his head, dailyrecord.com reported. Gannon was on a ventilator since then at Morristown Medical Center and removed from life support Tuesday, the report said.
Gannon had two sons and served as a judge since 1991.

The Morris County Board of Freeholders expressed its sadness and condolences in a statement released Wednesday afternoon, saying:
“Judge Gannon served with honor and distinction on the bench in Morris, Sussex and Passaic counties over three decades, handling criminal, civil, and family cases. He took a strong interest in juvenile matters, particularly in trying to prevent troubled youths from moving to lives of crime.

The freeholders deeply regret the passing of Judge Gannon and offer condolences to his family.’’
Gannon was a municipal prosecutor in Chester and Parsippany prior to his career on the bench, which began in Morristown. Gannon was a native of Boonton Township.
