Morristown Business Of The Year: Verrilli's
The pizzeria and bakery has served Morristown since 1898, but they stepped up big-time this year to help the community, customers say.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The coronavirus pandemic has presented challenges for most local businesses, but that hasn't stopped many from continuing to offer the products and services beloved by their regular customers.
One of those businesses is Verilli's in Morristown. Patch asked people to nominate their favorite establishments for Morristown Business of the Year, and several customers answered Verilli's.
The pizzeria and bakery has served the town for 122 years. Despite the challenges Verilli's has faced, several customers say that hasn't stopped them from helping the community.

Throughout the pandemic, they've donated pizzas every week for the needy, according to customer Eddie Anchondo.
Plus they've been "overall just being great support for anyone, even feeding those that cannot afford to pay for a meal themselves," Anchondo said.

"Although Verrilli’s has been a family owned business for many decades, they had a relatively low key presence in the community. Many of us knew Verrilli’s mainly for their pizza shells. Thanks to Kristi Dimogerodakis’s postings of amazing looking food on social media during this pandemic, people from all over are now aware of this once hidden little gem!"
But they're not immune to the pandemic struggles. Verrilli's is among many establishments participating in Morristown's "Adopt a Business" program, in which local businesses set up GoFundMe's to help pay their winter rent.
"We pride ourselves on being one of the oldest businesses in town that have stood the test of time and have become a household name for multiple generations," Dimogerodakis said on their GoFundMe.
