Morristown Grad Drafted Into The XFL
Morristown safety Jordan Powell is heading to Los Angeles after being drafted by the XFL.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown graduate Jordan Powell has been drafted into the XFL, in a planned 2020 revival of the football league.
Powell was drafted by the Los Angeles Wildcats in the fifth round on Wednesday. He was previously an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in the NFL, and is a graduate of Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.
A safety, Powell was a two-time AFCA first team all-America, and was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year, the Daily Record reported. He graduated from Morristown High School in 2015.

The XFL, which positions itself as an alternative to the NFL, played for a single season in 2001. It is scheduled to begin its second season in 2020.
