MORRISTOWN, NJ — Get ready for Morristown's Egg-Cellent Adventure. The weeks-long Morristown Egg Hunt will take scavengers to historic sites, points of interest and businesses around town.

The hunt will last from March 29 to April 12. A list of clues will become available on the Town of Morristown and Morristown Partnership websites, along with social media, starting March 29.

Families, groups and individuals with the most points and correct answers will get entered into a drawing for various prizes.

The event provides a socially distant alternative to the usual scrum of Easter egg hunts. Coronavirus restrictions effectively canceled egg hunts last year, and it's not immediately clear what restrictions state officials may impose around the holiday traditions this year.

New Jersey currently limits outdoor gatherings to 25 people, requiring social distancing to be practices. But there are no capacity limits for outdoor wedding ceremonies, funerals, memorial services or political and religious activities. Outdoor sports activities and controlled, large venues such as arenas can also exceed the gathering limit under certain exceptions.
