MORRISTOWN, NJ — A man called ShopRite of Greater Morristown on May 26 to leave a bomb threat, according to Hanover police. Now Victor Simpson, of Morristown, faces the charge of creating false public alarm, authorities announced Wednesday.

An unknown person called ShopRite and said, "There is a bomb in the store," before immediately hanging up, according to an employee. Another worker recognized the voice as Simpson — a former employee — police said.

After a brief investigation, police arrested Simpson. Officials took him to jail pending his court date.
