Morristown Medical Center Named One Of Nation's Top 50 Hospitals
Healthgrades named two New Jersey hospitals among the top 50 in the nation in its 2021 list.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — It's the first time Morristown Medical Center achieved this accolade during a pandemic. But for the sixth straight year, Healthgrades named the facility among its America's 50 Best Hospitals.
Overlook Medical Center in Summit — also part of Atlantic Health System — represented New Jersey on the list, as well.
Healthgrades creates annual lists of the top 50, 100 and 200 hospitals in the United States. The website is designed to help people make informed decisions before choosing a doctor or hospital. Making the top 50 puts a hospital in the nation's top 1 percent, according to Healthgrades.

But the current list doesn't account for performance during the coronavirus pandemic. Healthgrades analyzed the performances of nearly 4,500 hospitals using data from medical fiscal years 2017-19.
Healthgrades analyzed each hospital's performance based on 32 conditions and procedures, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis, and stroke.

Although Healthgrades evaluated hospitals with pre-pandemic data, Morristown Medical Center's president sees their rating as a good sign for coronavirus care.
"This consistent level of excellence and achievement by Morristown Medical Center for six years in a row continues to assure our communities of our unwavering commitment to the highest quality standards, coordination of care, and the best possible patient
outcomes,” said Dr. Trish O'Keefe. “We are especially proud of our dedicated medical staff and clinical team members who consistently provide extraordinary care in a safe,
healing environment for our patients and communities, even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”
