Morristown Rotary To Gift A Pavilion To Lidgerwood Park
The rotary club wants it to be ready by next year's egg hunt and the rotary's centennial.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Lidgerwood Park is getting a new pavilion. The Morristown Rotary Club presented to Town Council its gift of a new structure for the park.
The club set a target completion date for April 17, so it's ready for the next egg hunt and the rotary's centennial anniversary on May 22. But they will have to go through certain processes within the town for approval and construction.
The presentation — led by Morristown Rotary's Harvey Gilbert and Charlie Iuliano — featured a picture similar to what the pavilion would look like. But Gilbert says it won't have a railing and will have slightly smaller signs than in the picture.

"We are not going to acquire railings," he said. "We will leave it open, so it’s accessible from all sides."
The pavilion could become of use for a variety of events at the park. And the rotary also wants it to inspire young people to think about one of its values, "service above self."

The structure would go by the old pumphouse, just short of the playground, according to Town Administrator Jillian Barrick.
"The intent is that the town would demolish that pumphouse and clear that area out for the pavilion," she said.
