A student from Morristown was one of several honored by the Mayo Performing Arts Center as a November Music Student Of The Month for being an outstanding vocalist.

Samantha Schnur, a seventh grader from The Peck School, was honored on stage before the Nov. 8 concert at Mayo PAC. All the students were nominated by their teachers and chosen by Mayo PAC's education department. At the end of the year, all honored students will be invited to perform in a recital.

Here is what Andrew Lyman had to say about Schnur:

Samantha Schnur is a very talented vocalist. As a 6th grader Samantha was cast as Annie in our production of Annie, Jr. Her portrayal of Annie was perfect and truly special. Samantha also participates in our school's auditioned ensembles; Chorus as section leader, and the Handbell Choir. To continue to refine her already strong theater skills, Samantha is enrolled at the Paper Mill Playhouse where she has performed several times. Samantha is a student that takes music very seriously, has a strong presence, and is a leader that other students look up to and follow.
