New Soul Food Restaurant Opening In Morristown
Sandi's will bring southern-style soul food to Speedwell Avenue.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Sandi's, a new Southern-style soul food restaurant, will have its grand opening this Tuesday in Morristown.
Located at 82 Speedwell Avenue, the grand opening kicks off at 11 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty. Locals can expect "down-home Southern classics," like collard greens, fried chicken, catfish, whiting, candied yams, grits, and macaroni and cheese. For lighter fare, there are salads and vegetables.
Sandi's will feature a monthly Sunday brunch, as well as "Family First Fridays" with special take-and-go meals.

"It’s always been my dream to open a soul food restaurant, and carry on the cooking traditions I learned from my grandmother, Eula," said Sandra 'Chef Sandi' Rogers, the founder and head chef. "We believe it's important to stay true to our roots, that’s why we work and cook together, as a family. We are thrilled to bring our family traditions to Morristown."
In addition to regular menu options, Sandi's will have daily specials, including chicken lasagna, meatloaf, fried salmon, turkey wings, stewed oxtails, smothered pork chops, stewed chicken, black eye peas, chicken fried steak, and chicken and dumplings.

All meals come with a piece of "soul bread."
"Our food is prepared with love and soul," said Rogers. "I want guests to feel as though they are back at their mom’s or grandma’s table for a meal that feeds the soul."
Sandi’s will be open daily for lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 5 – 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 5 – 10 p.m.
