MORRISTOWN, NJ — As a "major" nor'easter continues blasting through New Jersey, quite the cleanup effort is underway. The local area has at least 5 inches of snow, according to a measurement Thursday morning from Morris Township officials.

Much around Morristown closed for Thursday. The Morris School District, which is currently operating remotely, gave everyone the day off school because of "the increased possibility of power outages and internet disruption."

Town Hall won't reopen until noon Thursday, and all Morris County government offices will stay closed Thursday.

But many town employees have been at work during the storm, including the Department of Public Works and police.

"It's snowy. It's windy. It's cold," Morristown DPW said. "It's a good morning to look out the window and then get back into bed. Our police officers have been out all night and our DPW crews are still working on getting the roads cleaned so if you can stay off the roads, please do."
