Open Gates Weekend Looks To Inspire Morris County Residents To Hone Their Gardening Skills

Hosted by The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Open Gates Weekend, invites members of the community to visit their local gardens.

A county-wide event hopes to introduce Morris County residents to the joys and rewards of gardening this upcoming weekend, kicking off July 30 (9a.m-1p.m.) and going through July 31 (1p.m.-5p.m.).

Open Gates Weekend is an event co-sponsored by The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum and Whole Foods Morristown, and its goal according to a press release by FFA, "is to showcase the beauty and diversity of Community Gardens by opening their usually 'closed to the public' gates."

The event will connect residents to experienced gardeners who will provide workshops and information for those looking to develop their own green thumbs. Members of Morris County Rutgers Master Gardeners will also be in attendance while Whole Foods Morristown will provided light refreshments to all patrons.
