Police K-9 Jax Passes Away In Morris County
The dog served for eight years before retiring in 2013.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morris County Sheriff's Office K-9 Jax died on June 19, after serving alongside his human parters for eight years.
K-9 Jax, born April 15, 2002, began his career in 2004. He attended Explosive Detection Training with the New Jersey State Police as part of the Detect and Render Safe Task Force, and Patrol Training with the Morris County Sheriff's Office. He was certified as a dual purpose Patrol/Explosive Detection K-9.
K-9 Jax first served with Sheriff's Officer Debbie (Robinson) Daniello, now retired, before working with Sheriff's Officer Aaron Tomasini in 2006. He has been paired with Tomasini since.

According to the Sheriff's Office:
K-9 Jax assisted in many investigations, finding/locating both suspects and missing persons alike, during his 8 years of service. He additionally aided in many protection details throughout the State, as he swept for explosives on the Detect and Render Safe Task Force.
In January of 2013, K-9 Jax retired, and lived the rest of his life alongside the Tomasini family as he enjoyed being a "regular" dog. Throughout his many years of service, K-9 Jax was always diligent to his duties. He served the citizens of Morris County and the State of New Jersey very well, and without hesitation.
