Police Log: A Capsized Boat And A Missing Teen Among Recent Complaints In Morris County Parks
Morris County Park Police assist individuals dumped into the water by a capsized boat in Mount Arlington.

Morris County Park Police dealt with outstanding warrants, drugs, and a missing teen, among other incidents in County Parks this past week.
Sept. 13
Drugs: Patrol officers in Hedden County Park in Randolph spotted a young man violating a County Park Commission ordinance on Tuesday of last week. They found that a 26-year-old from Dover had some drugs on his person and was smoking in an unauthorized area of the park. The Dover man also had a warrant for his arrest from the Morris County Sheriff's Office, so he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Smoking in a Unauthorized Area in a County Park and then turned over to the Sheriff's office.

Outstanding warrant: A patrol officer stopped a car in Morristown and found that the driver, a 26-year-old from Morristown, was driving with a suspended driver's license. The driver also had a warrant for failing to appear in the Butler Municipal Court. She was turned over to the Butler Police Department.
Outstanding warrant: Last Tuesday, a patrol officer was sent to the Randolph Police Department to deal with a 28-year-old Dover man who was charged for a crime by the County Park Police. The individual had a warrant for failing to appear in the Randolph Municipal Court for that charged. Since the Dover man was unable to post bail, he was placed in the Morris County Correctional Facility.

Missing person: Park Police officers were sent to the Mahlon Dickerson Reservation in Jefferson on the report of a missing juvenile. The juvenile was eventually found by the father.
Counterfeit money: Someone used a counterfeit $100.00 bill at the Pinch Brook Golf Course. Park police handed the case over to the Detective Bureau.
Sept. 14
Drugs: A patrol officer was patrolling Hedden County Park in Mine Hill when he spotted two suspicious individuals. After some investigation, the officer found that one of the individuals, a 21-year-old from Dover had two outstanding warrants for failing to appear and was on drugs. She was charged with Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The other individual, a 32-year-old from Dover, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The 21-year-old was turned over to the Rockaway Township Police and the Dover man was released with a court date pending.
Missing person: Officers were sent to the Mahlon Dickerson Reservation in Jefferson on the report of a missing 18-year-old male. After an investigation, officers discovered that this person wasn't actually missing; he'd just gone back to his old home in Georgia.
Capsize boat: Park Police officers were dispatched to the Lee's County Marina in Mount Arlington on a report of a capsized boat on Lake Hopatcong. The officers ensured that the individuals affected were safely removed from the water.
Dispute: A patrol officer was dispatched to James Andrews County Park in Randolph on a report of a dispute between a nearby resident and a park patron. All parties advised and released.
Sept. 16
Drugs: A patrol officer stopped a car in Rockaway Township and discovered that the 29-year-old driver from Rockaway was in possession of illicit drugs. The Rockaway driver was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor-Vehicle, and Unregistered Vehicle. He was released with a court date pending.
Drugs: A patrol officer stopped a car in Mount Olive and discovered that the 33-year-old driver from Allamuchy had drugs on his person. The driver was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Intoxicated (D.W.I.) and several motor-vehicle violations. He was eventually released with a court date pending.
Sept. 17
Injury: A high school cross country runner fell and hit her head, according to Morris County Police. A patrol officer was dispatched to Central Park in Parsippany to assist. Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the patient to the hospital for further observation and/or treatment.
A patrol officer was dispatched to Columbia Trail on a report of a male harassing patrons in the area. A vehicular and foot canvass was conducted with negative results.
