Police Log: A Heroin Needle, Fire Alarm, And A Car Crash Among Recent Morris County Complaints
Park Police officers find a Dover man with the accoutrements for heroin use in a Hedden County Park bathroom.

Morris County Park Police find evidence of drug use in two parks in the region over the last week:
Aug. 14: Heroin and fire
While conducting a routine foot patrol in Randolph's Hedden County Park, police officers observed a suspicious person in a bathroom. Upon further investigation, police report charges laid upon a 51-year-old from Dover, for Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle. The individual could not post bail so he was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility.

Alerted by an alarm, police officers and the fire department were dispatched to a residence at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morris Township. The fire alarm had been activated by food burning on the stove. No injuries reported.

While stopping a car for a moving violation in Denville, officers discovered a 40-year-old from Newark to be driving under the influence of some substance. According to reports, police charged the driver with Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. They also charged a 30-year-old passenger from Edison with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were released with a court date pending.
Officers were patrolling Mount Hope County Park in Rockaway Township when they observed three suspicious persons. An investigation led to two 18-year-olds from Rockaway and a juvenile to be charged with Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. They were all released with a court date pending.
Aug. 16: Car crash
Officers were dispatched to Berkshire Valley Golf Course in Jefferson on a report of a motor-vehicle crash. No injuries reported.
