Remembering Prince: Watch His Legendary New Jersey Concert

Music legend Prince has died: Watch his legendary New Jersey concert from 1982, considered one of the best ever. Warning: explicit lyrics.

Thirty-four years later, they still talk about it.

Prince was just a year - maybe months - from elevating his already successful music career into superstardom. His breakthrough album, "1999," was released in October 1982, and "Purple Rain" was released in 1984.

But some critics point to this concert (see below) in Passaic, N.J. in 1982 as a turning point, a performance that helped put him on the same level as Michael Jackson.

Prince had already been known as a master song craftsman, but his live performances, such as this one, have often been compared to the best - or better than the best.

Here is the full performance, held at aging Capitol Theatre on Jan. 30, 1982, a 3,200-seat music hall that was demolished in April 1991 (full setlist below):
