The Provident Bank Foundation Awards $7,500 To Mayo Performing Arts Center Of Morris County, Among Other Groups

Mayo Performing Arts Center of Morris County grant will fund new student recognition project.

The Provident Bank Foundation awarded more than $102,500 this month to various projects in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including the Mayo Performing Arts Center of Morris County, as part of the second cycle of its 2016 Major Grants program.

The Morristown-based foundation awarded the Mayo Performing Arts Center $7,500 to go towards their Music Student of the Month program. The Arts Center's latest program will honor the achievements of middle and high school students from Morris County. Morris County teachers will work with MPAC staff members to nominate students based on their musical aptitude, leadership skills, strength of character, and artistic contributions to their school community.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center grant, among others, is part of the Provident Bank Foundation's ongoing support for not-for-profit groups, institutions, schools, and other organizations that provide services to their communities. The Major Grant funds are awarded to those projects that enrich community, education, and health in a significant way. Awards provide between $5,000 and $25,000 in funding.

“The Provident Bank Foundation seeks to build relationships with organizations that have the capacity and drive to create change,” said Jane Kurek, Executive Director, The Provident Bank Foundation. “Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over $21 million to deserving organizations within the communities The Provident Bank serves. In 2016 alone, we’ve provided more than $560,000 in grants.”

Other awards during this cycle to projects based in New Jersey include $10,000 in funding to support The Thomas Edison State College Foundation’s Military and Veteran Career Enhancement Initiative. $5,000 in funding for the YWCA Bergen County's Empower U(niversity): Girls Leadership Academy. $7,500 in funding to support The Teen Life Internship Program. $5,000 in funding for the All Saints Community Service and Development Corporation’s Health & Wellness Activities for Jubilee Center Children’s Program. $7,500 in funding to provide arts education and community outreach for underprivileged students within the Red Bank, Keansburg, and Long Branch public school districts. $10,000 in funding to support Sanctuary Model for Young Women in Crisis through Collier Youth Services. $5,000 in funding for the Better Health program through Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Foundation of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Adult Day Center of Somerset County's Therapeutic Programming and Healthy Cooking Expansion for the Adult Day Center of Somerset County will receive $5,000. $5,000 in funding will be used toward development of the Cancer Support Community Central New Jersey’s Support Group Program. John F. Kennedy Medical Center Foundation of Middlesex County will receive $7,500 in funding to support Plainfield Health Connections. And the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County will also receive $5,000 in funding, to be used to support the Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Crisis Center’s (DASACC) Parenting Education Program.
