Republicans Have Strong Showing In Morris County Races

Republicans won all county-level races, and either won or lead in all statehouse races in the county during the 2019 general election.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — There were no surprises in county-level races in Morris County last night, with Republicans winning all three county-level races and either winning or leading in statehouse races.

The traditionally Republican county continued to vote Republican, voting in the Republican incumbent Sheriff and freeholders. A new surrogate was elected for the first time in 25 years, but voters stuck with a familiar party, voting for the Republican candidate in a solid win over her Democratic challenger.

Although not all statehouse races are decided as of 10:15 a.m., Republicans had a strong showing across the county, either winning or leading in all of the districts that cover Morris County.

Finally, I look forward to implementing basic programs to protect seniors from scams that often follow probate."

Thompson conceded the race Wednesday morning, saying in a statement, "Thank you to everyone that supported me in this race.
