The Other Mozart is an award-winning play that tells the true story of Maria Anna Mozart, forgotten sister of the famous brother. Like Wolfgang Amadeus, "Nannerl" (as Maria Anna was known) was a prodigy, a keyboard virtuoso and composer who performed throughout Europe to equal acclaim, but like many women artists of her time, her work and her story faded away, lost to history.

As the performance begins, Nannerl sits, an opulent beauty in an extravagant dress, clouds of dusting powder rising around her. Sylvia Milo creates a multi-sensory experience that transports us to an 18th-century world of genius and delight, where music brings joy, glory, and a door of opportunity that swings open for both Mozart children but swiftly shuts on Nannerl. At last, with stunning original music by Phyllis Chen filling in for Nannerl's own lost compositions and a costume "worthy of a gallery installation all of its own" (LA Times), the "other" Mozart can finally tell her story.
