Services Set For Morris County Man, 20, Who Fell To His Death At NYC Hotel
Connor Cummings was attempting to take photos when he fell nine stories in December.

ROCKAWAY, N.J. – Speckled with quotes about photography and its impact on life, Connor Cummings’ obituary detailed his 20 years on earth and how it came to an abrupt end in New York City recently.
Cummings, 20, fell from scaffolding at a New York City hotel last week, dropping nine stories to a lower rooftop where he died as a result of his injuries. The Morris County native and Morris Knolls High School graduate in the class of 2014, was reportedly climbing the scaffolding with a friend to take photos of the city.

“He was 20 years young and has left us broken hearted, but grateful for having had him bless our lives,” his obituary at normandean.com reads. “Connor’s spirit will live on forever in our hearts, our minds, and in the images he’s captured.”
Cummings will be laid to rest Wednesday, Jan. 6, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecilia’s Church in Rockaway at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be held after at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Visitation will be held Jan. 5 from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Norman Dean Home for Services on Righter Avenue in Denville.
Cummings was studying psychology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. “He possessed and adventurous and sill spirit which will never leave us,” the obituary read. “Those who had the fortune of knowing him are better for it. Our hearts are heavy and we will keep Connor with us and always remember to ‘capture’ life.”
The obituary, which can be seen here, ends with the quote, ““Life is like a camera. Focus on what’s important. Capture the good times. Develop from the negatives. Take another shot.”
