Transformer Fire Shuts Down Spring Street In Morristown

The road is closed between Morris Street and Water Street, police said.

MORRISTOWN, NJ - A section of Spring Street behind Headquarters Plaza in Morristown was shut down due to transformer fire Monday morning, according to the Morristown Police Department.

According to authorities, the transformer fire caused the utility pole to snap, leaving it suspended over the street. JCP&L were on the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m. and cut power to the area in order to begin emergency repairs, police said.

Traffic is detoured until the repairs are made, police noted.
