Driver received minor injuries from accident at intersection of Morris and Elm, police said.

A Honda CR-V crashed into the traffic light at the intersection of Morris and Elm streets Thursday afternoon, knocking it over and resulting in minor injuries to the driver.

had issued an alert via the Nixle.com alert service shortly before 1:30 p.m. advising drivers there could be closures and delays of up to three hours. Vehicles were being rerouted off Morris Street onto Elm Street. However, by 2 p.m., the accident had been cleared and the road reopened.

The scene—several police vehicles, a fire engine, tow truck and the damaged vehicle—looked a lot worse as several construction vehicles and lots of dirt was kicked up, as the county works on a project for that intersection.
