Possible Flooding As Flash Flood Warning Issued In Morristown
Heavy rains on Monday afternoon caused local roads to flood, and the National Weather Service called conditions dangerous.

MORRISTOWN, NJ – The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of three counties Monday afternoon after heavy rains and thunderstorms forced local roads to close. A video reportedly showed possible flooding in Morristown.
The warning is set to run until 7:45 p.m. for southern Morris County, northern Somerset County and northeastern Middlesex County after local law enforcement agencies reported flash flooding in Morristown.
The storm caused major power outages across the region, but most took place in Morris County, according to Jersey Central Power & Light, which indicated there were 4,868 outages in the county by 4:30 p.m. After that total dropped to 2,488. by 4:50 p.m., the number of power outages had climbed back to 4,96 an hour later, the Daily Record reported Monday afternoon.

Flooding was reported in Morristown on Interstate 287, Madison Ave., Woodland Ave. and Pine St. The National Weather Service announced in an alert that the situation remains dangerous and warned of life-threatening flash flooding.

The National Weather Service recommended that local residents take the following precautions:
